Happy Election Day!

November 4, 2025

As you read this, Texans across the state are heading to the polls. While it’s not a presidential or midterm election year, every election will always have lasting impact on our communities.

At Pink Granite, we believe in the power of women’s voices – regardless of political views. Voting is one of the most direct ways to make an impact in your community. Whether you’re weighing in on a proposition, electing city officials or supporting statewide measures, your vote helps define the policies and priorities that shape our state.

This election has seen critically low turnout, with only 3% of Texans taking advantage of the first week of early voting – a strikingly low number. That’s why we’re encouraging our members to show up for our state and make their voices heard at the ballot box – because as Texans, we know that when we show up, we’re proactively shaping the future of our communities.

What’s on the Ballot

This Election Day voters will see a range of propositions and local measures on their ballots. Everyone in the Texas community is impacted by these issues on a daily basis, from property tax amendments to funding for infrastructure and education.

Before heading to the polls, take a few minutes to review your local ballot and learn what’s at stake. You can find a sample ballot and polling information at VoteTexas.gov.

What to Know Before You Vote

Here’s a quick checklist for Election Day:

  • Polling Hours: Most Texas polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Bring an ID: A valid photo ID is required to vote in person.
  • Plan Ahead: Check your polling location—it may differ from where you voted in the primaries.

Why Local Elections Matter

Local elections often decide issues that touch our lives most directly. They include the schools our children attend, the roads we drive on and the policies that guide our communities. Yet, these elections historically have the lowest voter turnout.

By showing up today, you’re doing more than just casting a ballot; you’re leading by example, demonstrating that civic engagement is not a once-every-four-years event but a lifelong commitment to shaping a better Texas.

The Pink Granite Foundation exists to empower women in Texas politics and policy and that mission begins at the ballot box.

So, if you haven’t already, head to the polls and make your voice count. Because every election matters and so does every voter.
