Honoring the outstanding achievements of women in Texas politics who have shaped lasting change under the Pink Dome.
The Pink Granite Foundation (Pink Granite), an organization dedicated to mentoring and empowering women in Texas politics and policy, announced its 2025 award winners. The foundation named Lisa Craven this year’s Legacy Award recipient, Ashley Myers as the Rising Star and Carol McGarah was named Mentor of the Year.
“The Pink Granite Awards capture the heart and spirit of our foundation. They bring together the incredible women of Capitol community to celebrate their remarkable career achievements,” said Amy Whited, Executive Director of the foundation. “This year, we saw extraordinary leadership and impact from women across the Texas Capitol during the 89th Legislative Session. Our award recipients have demonstrated vision, collaboration and an unwavering commitment to public service and we are thrilled to celebrate their outstanding contributions.”
2025 Legacy Award Winner: Lisa Craven

With a career spanning 38 years, Lisa Craven has established herself as respected and accomplished leader at the Texas Capitol. From beginning her journey as a tour guide to guiding major initiatives across both the legislative and executive branches, she has consistently demonstrated vision, strategic leadership and an extraordinary ability to build connections under the Pink Dome. Her service on the State Water Implementation Fund advisory committee, the executive committee of the National Association of State Chief Administrators and the Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Life underscore her enduring impact on Texas policy and civic engagement. The Legacy Award honors Lisa for her remarkable professional achievements, as well as the years of mentorship, guidance and inspiration she has provided generations of women in Texas politics.
“Receiving the Legacy Award from the Pink Granite Foundation is an incredible honor,” Craven said. “This organization is vital to Texas politics, creating a safe space for women to connect, mentor and support one another across party lines. This recognition reflects not only my own journey in public service, but also the collaborative spirit and commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders that Pink Granite champions every day.”
2025 Rising Star: Ashley Myers

As Director of Government Relations at Whitmire & Munoz, LCC, Ashley Myers has quickly risen in the Texas political sphere. Her commitment, skill and passion have already made her a standout figure in Texas politics, even at the early stage of her career.
“I am incredibly thankful to receive this award from this distinguished and beloved organization. I stand on the shoulders of so many women and men whose work and support for young professionals have opened doors in this industry, and I wouldn’t be here without them,” Myers said. “This recognition inspires me to continue advocating, learning and shaping the policies that impact our communities and our state.”
2025 Mentor of the Year: Carol McGarah
